Knock! Knock! Who's There?
By Becky Wilson
God doesn’t just knock at your front door. He stays by the phone hoping you’ll call. He texts you all the time, and it’s not because He has unlimited minutes. When you’re on Facebook, He wonders why you don’t friend Him and if you have friended him, you’ve clicked Not Following. If you only knew how much He wants you to get your ‘face’ in His ‘Book’ so He can talk to you.
God yearns for us. He created us for relationship with Him. Desire of Ages tells us, “It was Satan’s purpose to bring about eternal separation between God and man, but in Christ we become more closely united to God than if we had never fallen.”
Yet, how often do you avoid spending time with him because you question how could God really love someone like you? You made a laundry list of your faults, you’ve indexed your sins on mental notecards, and you keep a library catalog of the opportunities you’ve missed to witness. But God doesn’t live in the past, so why do you? He is right here, right now waiting to hear from you and wanting to personally tell you this one thing:
If you are running from Me, stop running. If you are hiding from Me, stop hiding.
I love you. You are of more value in My eyes than entire worlds.
Why are you avoiding this conversation? Go ahead. Pick up the phone.
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him and he with Me.”
Pray that God will you help you respond to his voice so that you can help others find Him, too.
